Dan has been studying preterism for 40 years. After R. C. Sproul stated in his book The Last Days according to Jesus that he believed full preterism's fatal flaw was its concept of the resurrection, Dan responding by writing Overcoming Sproul's Resurrection Obstacles. In 2021 he wrote a comprehensive study of the resurrection of the dead titled, The Resurrection of the Dead: A Preterist Perspective. He has also written a comprehensive study on the "rapture," titled, Gathered Into the Kingdom.
