Brian was challenged with the preterist view in the late 1990s by a coworker. Intending to show this coworker the error of his ways, Brian began studying preterism. After a couple of years of study, not only could Brian not find the holes in preterism, he embraced it as a more accurate view of Scripture. Brian's journey is chronicled in the video introduction to preterism titled

As a means of processing assessing information, Brian wrote several articles dealing with various aspects of preterism. These were never intended for widespread reading, but were merely one of the ways that Brian worked through subject matter. He figured that if he could explain a concept in an article that others would understand then he had a decent grasp on the material himself. With the encouragement of another preterist acquantaince, Brian began compiling his articles into a book. After gathering what he had already written, he determined what was lacking for a complete presentation of preterism and wrote additional material to fill in the gaps. The result was "Behind the Veil of Moses," which was first published in 2004.

A year after publishing "Behind the Veil of Moses," Brian and his wife Kayla were married. Realizing that many Christians are simply not avid readers, especially of controversial theology like preterism, Brian and Kayla decided to begin Fulfilled! Magazine, which launched in 2006. The goal was to provide more "bite-sized" articles to picque other's interest in preterism, while at the same time providing a sense of community to preterist readers who often felt isolated because of their theological views. Social media, which now connects many preterists, was in its infancy at the time.

After a warm welcome from the early readership of Fulfilled!, they formed Fulfilled Communications Group (FCG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, as the parent ministry for the magazine. In 2008 they published a revised version of "Behind the Veil of Moses," and in 2009 FCG produced the video "You've Gotta Be Kidding, Right?"  which used Brian's journey into preterism as a means of introducing preterism to others. The video was very well received and sold over 5,000 copies before going out of print.

The next decade Brian and Kayla kept busy producing the magazine and doing several house remodeling projects in preparation for Brian's retirement. Brian retired in 2020, and is looking forward to having more time available for FCG projects.
